What is hatha yoga?
A rather gentle yoga that works precisely and rhythmically on the postures. Hatha yoga is a discipline of harmonization and development of psychological faculties: concentration and bodily serenity (power and flexibility). It is the most practiced yoga in the West.

Why is it good ?
Like all yogas, it helps to master the body and the senses. But, in addition, it strengthens the joints, improves flexibility, and helps fight back problems. Finally, it promotes concentration and helps to better manage stress.

 With whom ?
A former dancer and great traveler, Parisian Marie Frager discovered yoga in New York, which she now teaches. This practice has proven to be excellent for treating the pain of her dancer's body under severe strain.
She manages the Atelier Marais, created ten years ago, with 20 other teachers.

How does it happen ?
Classes are taught in small groups, around ten people maximum, in a room of approximately 30 m2. Marie corrects bad postures. Very far from a military approach to yoga, it gently supports practitioners.

When is it?
Every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. L'Atelier Marais is open all year round.

What is the spirit of the place?
The course is different each time, because it involves dealing with the time, the season, the energy of the students and teachers. These adapt to the needs of the students. Don't hesitate to try several courses to find the one that suits you.

And the philosophy of the course?
People come to yoga when they are ripe for it. Everyone comes looking for different things: to soothe themselves, to resolve physical pain, to improve their abilities…

Why do we love?
Because the class is energetic, but not too much. Spirituality is present there, and practice, punctuated with Indian words. The approach consists not only of reproducing postures, but of knowing oneself better through empathy, kindness for others and also towards oneself.
