After the USA, Japan and London, Supreme, the American streetwear brand, is setting up shop in a discreet street in the Marais. Faithful to its tradition of secrecy, the legendary sneaker, clothing and skateboard “dealer” who made a name for himself with Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dog and RZA has opened his fifth store.
Thus the inhabitants of this usually calm and rather “bobo” neighborhood saw young buyers in hoodies, imbued with street culture and devoured by the anxiety of not finding the pieces they so desired, wandering around every day.
It must be said that Supreme, which navigates between elite culture and rap culture, knows how to play with the nerves of its fans: variable stocks, rarity of the brand's products or those created in collaboration with the big names in cool culture.
A day before the opening of the store it was the turn of the people to appear for the inauguration. Among them Kim Jones (AD of Louis Vuitton), Jason Dill (skateboarder), Chloé Sévigny, Jamel Debbouzze, Errolson Hugh (AD of Acronym), Stéphane Ashpool (creator of Pigalle), Ian Connor (fashion prodigy), Kev Adams etc.
All that was missing was Kanye West, a big fan of the label.
