At the head of the Picasso Museum since 2014, Laurent Le Bon is one of those typically French personalities who are the pride of the world of French culture. Major in the competition for heritage curators, this art historian has a CV as long as the arm of a Picasso character.

Curator of the Beaubourg-Georges Pompidou center in 2000 and professor at the Louvre school, he is the one who pilots the Pompidou-Metz center project of which he becomes director in 2013.

Also the curator of numerous contemporary art exhibitions including Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami at the Palace of Versailles in the 2000s, he is also responsible for the artistic direction of the 2012 edition of Nuit Blanche.

Author of numerous art books and catalogs, this eclectic museum director has a 360-degree artistic knowledge without departing from a certain simplicity. Since the reopening of the Picasso museum, more than three million people have visited the institution he directs in the heart of the Marais.

When he was appointed in 2014, Le Monde described this non-conformist as “one of the most inventive personalities in the world of French museums, where he embodies the exception rather than the rule”. Some will add: “A Maraisian at heart”!
