The Marais, usually very well off with its twenty-eight parks and public gardens, experienced a glaring lack of greenery during confinement.
Two months without entering the parks, caressing the foliage with your fingers and, supreme luxury, treading on the green grass with your feet is a long time!
We also show you a secret place, one of those you only enter after showing your credentials.
The lucky ones are the members of the 1001 leaf shared garden association chaired by the hyperactive Karine Barbagli.
Here, around thirty members aged between five and eighty years old cultivate together, without pesticides (since 2016 all the gardens in the city of Paris are organic) and according to the principles of permaculture of honey flowers for pollination. , herbs and lots of vegetables: Jerusalem artichokes, potatoes, beans etc.
Moreover, the garden's auxiliaries frequent it assiduously: butterflies, bumblebees, wild bees, ladybugs, earthworms, earclips and centipedes have found refuge there.
During the week, school children meet these green fingers. Other visitors are invited on Sunday afternoons but also on the occasion of their open days, in September, on the occasion of the Paris garden festival and in November, when with their harvest they cook a soup that they share.
In spring there always comes a themed party.
At the end of June, beginning of July, when they teach new members to water, it's another excuse for an aperitif... without alcohol. In short, everything is good to celebrate nature.

Where to swim in the Marais?
With the summer holidays approaching, what could be better than a few swimming sessions to shape a summer body? Unfortunately, the Marais only has one swimming pool on its territory, that of Saint-Merri, opposite Beaubourg (4th). Fortunately, two pools are not far away…

The best tattoo parlors in Marais
Tattooing, an age-old practice, has long been the prerogative of convicts, dock workers, the underworld and sailors. Although it has become democratized, now affecting all profiles and concerning one in five French people, including 16% women compared to 10% men, it still remains taboo due to its definitive and transgressive nature.
