Unlike the famous ghost schooner of the same name (found off the coast of the Azores in 1872, with its cargo but without its crew), the Mary Céleste is still inhabited. Far from being abandoned, this cocktail bar is always full, probably thanks to the clever mix of good humor and good dishes concocted by the happy bunch of Quixotic projects to whom we already owe several bars "with extra soul" : “La Candelaria” (tapas), rue de Saintonge; “Hero” (Korean), rue Saint-Denis; “Bar Marilou” (cocktails), in London.

In addition to the fine selection of natural wines, there are mixologist cocktails whose names are already quite a program: She said yes (gin, amaretto bianco, lemon juice, €12), Grøn Dyr (seaweed vodka, aquavit , celery juice, granny smith apple, jalapeño, lime 12€), Gold City (tequila with Sichuan pepper, amaro montenegro, passion fruit, lime 12€)

“Foodistas” go crazy at the sight of the dishes, served in small proportions, from a menu that changes with the seasons: burrata, zucchini pickles, preserved lemon for €12; heirloom tomatoes, roasted peaches, malako, buckwheat for €10; green beans, fermented radishes, spicy vinaigrette €10 horse mackerel, verjuice vinaigrette, blueberries, purslane for €14 Japanese clams, dashi, edamame, samphire for €13; beef tartare, anchovy cream, daikon, radish, raspberries for €14.

The journey takes place in a light decor with bare bricks, tiles on the floor and – if you like – oysters on the plate accompanied by a glass of white wine. At boarding time, seated or leaning against the railing of the wooden counter, we sit aboard the Mary Céleste with the near certainty that this trip will end well.

Cocktails €7-14. Plates €7-14. Online reservation only, from 18 p.m. to 19:30 p.m.

Piccola Mia, the pizzas of the Republic

Piccola Mia, the pizzas of the Republic

On the Place de la République, a brasserie with Italian accents has just opened, which quickly made people forget the old Pizza Pino. Welcome to Piccola Mia, the fruit of the joyful encounter between Italian chef Denny Imbroisi, pizza chef Julien Serri and mixologist Matthias Giroud who creates a creative cocktail menu.

Bel Canto, an evening of singing

Bel Canto, an evening of singing

Pushing the door of Bel Canto is like entering the opera. On the upper quay of the Seine, facing Ile Saint-Louis, Bel Canto is not an ordinary restaurant. Here, we dine but above all, we come to listen to the great classics of lyrical art, performed by... the room staff!

Secret, or discreet, addresses are sometimes the best. This is the case of the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation café-restaurant, in the Marais, very close to the BHV. You enter through a carriage entrance which opens onto a paved courtyard. Without paying attention, we have just entered the kingdom of the brilliant fashion designer who died in 2017 at the age of 82.

Tattooing, an age-old practice, has long been the prerogative of convicts, dock workers, the underworld and sailors. Although it has become democratized, now affecting all profiles and concerning one in five French people, including 16% women compared to 10% men, it still remains taboo due to its definitive and transgressive nature.
