The Carnavalet museum is reopening its doors and it’s an event. After four years of closure for renovation work and due to Covid, this major museum, dedicated to the history of Paris and endowed of its breathtaking collection of 625 works and objects, welcomes the public again from Saturday May 000, 29.

From the facades to the parquet floors, including the courtyards and rooms, the Carnavalet has been completely restored and re-arranged. New spaces are redefined. And the tour routes are adapted to current standards, including those conducive to the movement of disabled people.

All of this work magnifies the monument by bringing new life with these large staircases which bring the museum into modernity.

“At a time when the French are returning to their museums and national monuments after long months of deprivation, the reopening of this place steeped in history marks in the most beautiful way the resumption of Parisian cultural life,” underlines the Minister of Culture. Roselyne Bachelot.
