To start well Record Store Day, it is necessary to obtain The Paris of record stores, a work which lists all the Parisian vinyl dealers, signed by the independent journalist based in the 3rd arrondissement Hervé Devallan, where the four independent record stores in the Marais are listed: Rock and Roll Voltage, Superfly Records, Rupture Record Store, Lucky records…

In one way or another, everyone participates in Record Store Day, this event created 11 years ago which highlights vinyl records with the sale of limited editions (pressings range from 500 to 10 copies).

Here it is the rarity that makes the object interesting.

LUCKY RECORDS

At Lucky Records, Pascal, one of the sellers, highlights a new unpublished compilation of Prince, Lady Gaga's latest album with a rare yellow vinyl pressing or even the soundtrack of the film "La Piscine" never released in France. And other unreleased records.

SUPERFLY RECORDS

Superfly Records on the other hand, has not participated in Record Store Day for at least 5 years.
“Initially launched by independents, the event has been taken over by major companies who take advantage of it to promote their artists. This is why, in our opinion, this “record store day” has lost its meaning, even if we benefit indirectly from it to the extent that we observe an increase in footfall in stores on that day,” recognizes Manu.

ROCK'N'ROLL VOLTAGE

Finally, at Rock and Roll Voltage, a “metal” specialist, Arnaud also judges that Record Store Day is being misguided by the organizers who “make fun of small independents and make questionable editorial choices. »

The record store nevertheless participates in its own way in the event by offering new releases adapted to its customers: the latest AC/DC in the form of a picture disc (image printed on the vinyl), a double live performance by Def Leppard (concert recorded at Sheffield in 1983), or the Motörhead album Valentine's Day Massacre reissued with a cover different from the original.

The best tattoo parlors in Marais

Tattooing, an age-old practice, has long been the prerogative of convicts, dock workers, the underworld and sailors. Although it has become democratized, now affecting all profiles and concerning one in five French people, including 16% women compared to 10% men, it still remains taboo due to its definitive and transgressive nature.
