What is vinyasa yoga?
It is an active practice of dynamic postures synchronized with breathing. There is no specific order in the exercises but this yoga is more spontaneous and less “fixed” than Ashtanga yoga from which it comes. It clears the head and improves concentration.

Unlike Ashtanga yoga from which it is inspired, Vinyasa yoga is made up of non-fixed series. The term “vinyasa” comes from the Sanskrit “Nyasa” which means “to place”. We then understand that it is a question of placing the movement in the breathing and therefore of creating dynamism in this way. Everything is based on the regular sequence of postures chosen by the yogis. Without stopping, poses and counter-poses are performed throughout the session. The point is to work one side of the body and then do the same thing on the other. All postures are punctuated in parallel by precise breathing. Breath and movement are closely linked, causing body temperature to increase.

Why is it good?
Vinyasa offers the possibility of invigorating work. This allows you to develop flexibility and endurance thanks to postures which initially work, then reduce back pain, sinusitis, digestive problems, strengthen the muscles and refine the silhouette. Finally, vinyasa brings peace, fluidity on an emotional level and improves the quality of sleep.

With whom ?
Karine worked for fifteen years in communications. She was a fitness instructor at the same time. So very quickly Karine turned to vinyasa, a yoga that she practiced for 10 years as a student before teaching it.

How does it happen ?
Vinyasa yoga is accessible to everyone because its practice does not require any particular skills. It is ideal for those who are resistant to monotony because it is neither repetitive nor codified. If the series of postures standing, sitting, on the stomach, on the back, guided by Karine are fluid, they are nevertheless dynamic. As the minutes pass, they become more and more intense.
When the end of the class arrives, it is time for relaxation called savasana. This meditation is the moment for Karine to read us texts which tell the myths hidden behind yoga postures. This approach introduces us to all kinds of heroes – gods, goddesses – and helps us understand the practice.

When is it?
Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. or 8:45 a.m.

What is the spirit of the place?
It is a small building which houses, among other things, a spacious yoga room, but also others dedicated to bootcamp, cycling, boxing, athletics, rowing. A sort of ultra-modern temple of form. Yoga mats are installed before the students arrive. Towels, beauty products (deodorant, body cream, etc.) are available. At Episod the atmosphere and family spirit are surprising because the very modern place could make you fear more distance.

Why do we love?
Because the place is impeccable, the course intense, guided with great kindness and attention by Karine. With it we push our limits in complete safety and the hyper tonic exercises are energizing. So the day starts off right.
