From the top of this outdoor and technical clothing store, a hundred years of family history gaze down upon you. Created in 1921 in Chamonix, the Millet brand (which in 1950 equipped Maurice Herzog's expedition to Annapurna, the first summit climbed above 8000 meters in the Himalayas) is still managed by the family of the same name . It is therefore a bit of French heritage and know-how that arrives from the Alps to settle in the Marais, at 21 rue des Archives.

Coming down from the mountain to the city, the brand of mountaineering, climbing, skiing and trekking clothing is part of a high-end sportswear trend, already well established in the neighborhood with Salomon, Fusalp, North Face , Arc'teryx or even Patagonia. This urban aesthetic directly inspired by snow-capped peaks has a name, “Gorpcore”. Initially, the trend took hold on the west coast of the United States where outdoor style reigns supreme. It combines functional, hyper-technical and minimalist clothing, with neutral colors and fitted silhouettes.
In keeping with the times, general manager Romain Millet emphasizes that “the brand's vision is also to adapt its economic model to reduce its environmental impact, with five areas of improvement corresponding to five themes: climate change, circular economy, pollution, diversity, social commitment. »

Millet is, in short, the opposite of “fast fashion”. The brand is aimed at those who prioritize technology and sustainability. Which also means that this fashion has a price. Dressing in Millet certainly represents a small investment. But as they say in English: “Cheap is expensive”. Implied: “I can't afford to buy clothes that will wear out after a season or two. » With Millet, who has proven himself in the Himalayas and elsewhere, there is nothing to fear in that regard.
