At Hanami Teatime, foodistas in a good mood flock to enjoy fluffy pancakes. XXL pancakes from Southeast Asia, these are variations of their American cousins, but more airy, thick and soft.

The fluffy pancake is quite an art... which requires mastery (of rising snow) and patience (their cooking is slow). But it is also a visual art, as the plate and the places are Instagrammable.

Jimmy, the owner of the place, says: “I discovered fluffy pancakes while I was on vacation in Japan. I liked the concept of a tea room around this comforting soufflé pancake. » All smiles, the young man continues: “And as I wanted to launch my business I took hold of this idea. Almost at the same time, the premises where my parents had their business became vacant. So, I went for it. »

Obviously, Hanami Teatime customers love its hottokēki (ホットケーキ), as fluffy pancakes are called in Japan. Jimmy explains: “Since the pancakes are barely sweet, it’s the toppings that make the difference. We serve hottokēki in twos and choose them with red fruits, caramel and speculoos, chocolate, etc. »

On the decorative side Hanami Teatime, with its purple wisteria and its cherry blossoms (in fabric) pays homage to Japanese culture and particularly to the homonymous festival which takes place in spring during the cherry blossoms. Families then celebrate the return of sunny days, in public gardens, around delicious dishes including the famous fluffy pancakes.
