The Centre Pompidou, or Centre Beaubourg, will close its doors in the summer of 2025 for a period of five years to allow for major renovation work. Starting on September 4, the last major exhibition will be devoted to the Surrealist Movement (1924-1969). Designed in the style of a labyrinth, the exhibition will be an unprecedented dive into the exceptional creative effervescence of the movement born in 1924 with the publication of André Breton's Founding Manifesto. Until January 13, 2025.
Here is the closing schedule:
-
- The move of the collections will begin in October 2024, after the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- The first closures to the public will take place in early 2025.
- The performance halls will close in early 2025.
- The museum and library will close from March 2025.
- The complete closure of the exhibition spaces will take place in summer 2025.
- The move will continue until the end of 2025.
